Ellume Polarized is the world's first lens made using a plant-based bonding agent, thus replacing the petroleum-based bonder. Z-Resin Bio-Plastic Frame
All of our frames are made from Z-Resin our proprietary plant-based material from Switzerland. Instead of crude oil our frames are made from the natural oils in the castor bean. In fact it's a perfect resource because it's an efficient fast-growing perennial that withstands drought and thrives on marginal lands.
